Admissions procedure

Tabley House wishes to promote a climate of best nursing practice in its admission procedures, respect at all times the rights of the individual, and comply with current legislation and NMC guidelines for practice appertaining to admission procedures and to provide high quality individualised patient care.

After initial inquiry to the home the individual and or significant other(s) will be invited to view Tabley House and meet with Matron the Deputy Matron or other senior member of staff in their absence.

At this initial meeting information will be exchanged in ensuring a placement at Tabley House is suitable for the individual concerned.

Following this viewing and subject to room availability a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse will undertake a full holistic pre-admission assessment of the individual at their place of dwelling.

A telephone assessment can be undertaken in exceptional circumstance such as emergency admissions and extended distance of travel.

Once the pre-admission assessment has been completed, the individual will be informed in writing if Tabley House are able to meet their individual identified needs.

Once this has been confirmed and contracts signed, a mutually convenient admission date is agreed. All new admissions are subject to an initial month's trial to ensure the individual is happy with their choice of home and Tabley House are assured that they can meet the individual's needs.
