Dementia Care including Alzheimer's Disease
Our recently refurbished Dementia Alzheimer Care Unit offers specialized care for those residents who require a comfortable and safe environment. Our Dementia/ Alzheimer Care Unit specifically caters for those residents who would be unsafe if able to leave a building unaccompanied. This part of the home has a locked door policy.
We have created a home-like environment, providing specialized care which promotes the individuals independence, choice and use of life skills.
On entering the unit you are greeted by our reminiscence corridor which displays photographs, nick knacks etc… of days gone by to assist in memory stimulation and engagement of our resident group.
Residents on the unit are given the opportunity to and encouraged to join in our daily activity programme. Activities are held both on the unit and also in main house – we operate an inclusive policy where by residents from both units mix together for all activities.
Our activities are designed to cater for the needs and interests of individual residents as well as groups and cater for physical as well as mental stimulation.
